Mira Marketing Attends the 1-Day PLATFORM Conference
It’s been a busy few months for us at Mira. From the move to our brand new office space in Ouseburn and the opening event we hosted to some of our clients signing exciting new contracts with us like Geotab, we’ve had a lot going on. That’s why it was a nice change of pace when some of our team headed to Platform’s conference to talk to other North East business leaders.
Hosted at The Catalyst in Newcastle Helix on Tuesday 28th April, the event brought together employers from a huge range of industries and backgrounds from around the North East to discuss ideas for growth, as well as the people, processes, technology, and finances to boost leaders and their businesses.
Our very own Founder & CEO Stuart Bramley was invited to be part of a panel discussion of service providers to businesses hosted by Charlotte Nichols, Founder & Marketing Director of Harvey & Hugo, alongside Nicky Jolley (Founder & Managing Director, HR2day Limited), Adeel Bashir (Founder & Legal Director, Nouveau Legal), and Andrew Farrell (Senior Accountant, Optimal Accountancy Limited).

The panel discussed the ideas of why, when, and how you should bring external expertise to grow your business, including questions about when it's best for leaders to consider bringing in an external service provider in the life of a company, and how each service from marketing to legal creates a whole functioning ecosystem.
The conference had a limit of 175 tickets for professionals, and scheduled talks varied from keynotes by Ian Kinnery (better known as The Scale-Up Coach) on properly building and scaling a business through clear thinking rather than strategy, to a fireside chat with Lee Hartley (CEO, Castrius Capital Partners & Founder, Fairstone Group) about how he built one of the UK’s biggest wealth management companies & the new £10bn investment fund he is pulling together for businesses based in the North East of England.
Stuart Bramley was full of praise for the event:
“Having attended a number of previous PLATFORM events, it was an honour to be invited to be part of such an exciting panel discussion. Being able to share ideas and insights alongside other incredible speakers from different industries is a point of pride for me.”
Alessandro Calzetta, Head of Marketing for Mira, was also in attendance at the event and shared his biggest takeaway:
“The thread running through the whole day? People. How important people still are in everything we do. Whether it’s from the very top with the leaders and decision makers to the workforce driving the change, it’s those doing it that makes the effective difference.”
For us at Mira, these events continue to reinforce our ambition to push the standard of what good marketing looks like in the North East and beyond.
